ROLAX Board Positions & Responsibilities

A Note About Board Roles

The position descriptions below outline the primary responsibilities of each role, but they don't tell the whole story. ROLAX is a volunteer-run organization, and like most volunteer organizations, we work together to make things happen. Duties are often shared, delegated, rearranged, or redistributed as needed based on availability, interests, individual strengths, and the needs of the association.

Real life doesn't always match the org chart. Board members regularly step in to support one another, assist with projects, and share workloads. We don't expect anyone to do everything themselves, and we recognize that family, work, and life come first. What matters most is having a team of people willing to collaborate, solve problems, and help create a great experience for our players and families.

Why Consider Serving?

Many of our board positions require little or no lacrosse experience. We need parents and community members with a variety of skills and interests including:

  • Organization and project management
  • Finance and budgeting
  • Event planning
  • Technology and websites
  • Communications and marketing
  • Volunteer coordination
  • Fundraising and sponsorships
  • Leadership and problem-solving

Not sure if you're qualified? Most of us weren't experts when we started. If you're willing to learn, collaborate, and help provide a great experience for our players and families, there is likely a role where you can make a meaningful impact.

With more than half of the board expected to turn over in the coming year, this is a unique opportunity for new families to help shape the future direction of ROLAX for years to come.

Board members are eligible to receive reimbursement of up to one player registration fee per year as recognition for their volunteer service to the association.
